Im not one for placing too much emphasis on symbolism. It is of course everywhere and everything, but if we were to look into the meanings of every tiny little thing we wouldnt have much time to live and we would miss an awful lot of the beauty that is truly going on around us.
I often see number sequences and if I am given it more than 2 or 3 times in a row I will delve a little deeper and see what im being given it for. I do firmly believe that many symbols and number sequences are given to us from those in spirit and our guides, to assist us in where we need to be going. But I try not to become too engrossed. I try to just go with the ebbs and flows of life and just let the important ones jump out at me if and when they are needed.
Today was one such day. I had been asking for guidance on some issues around me currently but as yet I hadnt recieved much in the normal way that guidance usually comes to me. Maybe because this is personal and affecting me and therefore I cant hear what is being said. Usually I ask and I receive quite literally a download of information, usually in the form of an opinion from one of my guides based on their lives and learning and wisdom. I am lucky that it works that way for me as I know many people would give their right arm for an easy piece of guidance. But alas, they have been quiet and I can only put this down to my own fears blocking their words. They are always there to help and assist and support, but I am not always able to hear them.
So today, they found a different and beautiful way to get the message across to my apparent deaf ears. My cat, brought a peacock butterfly to me! He didnt injure it or run off to eat it. He literally brought it in and placed it at my feet! My puss is a good hunter but to catch a butterfly without causing injury? Amazing. I was really taken aback but thought nothing of it for a few hours. Then like a sledge hammer it hit me. Butterflies and me have a bit of a thing. A little like owls, they mean something so special to me and hold special meaning.

An amazing lady who is my go to for symbolism!
‘From egg, to larvae (caterpillar), to pupa (the chrysalis or cocoon) and from the cocoon the butterfly emerges in her unfurling glory.
What a massive amount of transition this tiny creature undergoes. Consider for a moment the kind of energy this expends. I daresay if a human were to go through this kind of change we’d freak out!
Imagine the whole of your life changing to such an extreme you are unrecognizable at the end of the transformation. Mind you, this change takes place in a short span of about a month too (that’s how long the butterfly life cycle is).
Herein lies the deepest symbolic lesson of the butterfly. She asks us to accept the changes in our lives as casually as she does. The butterfly unquestioningly embraces the chances of her environment and her body.
This unwavering acceptance of her metamorphosis is also symbolic of faith. Here the butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. She understands that our toiling, fretting and anger are useless against the turning tides of nature – she asks us to recognize the same.’
This is the answer. The guidance I had been asking for!
So you see, they are always there, always ready to help and to support. But sometimes, you have to be still long enough to see whats right infront of you.
